Stage Set for August 12 'Tharu Dilena Reyak' Fund Raiser

Final touches to the ‘Tharu Dilena Reyak’, the fund-raising musical extravaganza to be staged by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) on 12th August at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium are now underway with the participation of all relevant organizing committees.

The project, featuring the popular Indian pop icon, Asha Bhosle and the Sri Lankan duo, Bhathiya and Santhush is launched by the SVAB, presided by Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB.

The SVAB, instrumental in harnessing financial and material support for construction of Wellness Resorts (Abimansala) at different district levels for mental and physical well-being of dependent disable War Heroes, expects to kick off its second ‘Abimansala’ construction shortly in the Kurunegala district after the success of its pilot project, ‘Abimansala’ at Anuradhapura. Proceeds of this mammoth musical evening go to the construction of the second ‘Abimansala’ in the Kurunegala district.

Tickets for the grand show can be bought from Keels Super at Rajagiriya, Wattala, Nugegoda, Negombo, Moratuwa, Kiribathgoda, ARPICO Stalls at Navinna, Hyde Park Corner, Sarasavi Bookshop - Nugegoda, and Mango Tree Indian Restaurant at Pittala Junction. They can also be bought from the Taj Samudra Hotel, Army Headquarters Gate and Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

On an initiative of the Commander of the Army, plans are afoot to house some three hundred permanently disable Army War Heroes in state-of-the-art Wellness Resorts for mental and physical relaxation with all necessary medical and clinical assistance on hand. The first of such centres for rest and recreation for permanently disable War Heroes was ceremonially opened on 26th July at Anuradhapura by His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Following main sponsors have come forward to extend their assistance to make the project a success.
