The Sri Lankan Medical Contingent (SRIMED) at Level 2 Hospital, UNMISS Bor Compound conducted a Field Training Exercise (FTX) on Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Management on 2 May 2025.
The simulation involved medical teams from Indian Battalion 2 (INDBATT2) Level 1, Ethiopian Battalion (ETHBATT) Level 1, and Republic of Korea - Hospital Medical Evacuation Company (ROK-HMEC) Level 1. It focused on a coordinated response to a bomb blast scenario involving eight casualties resulting from a joint operation in Bor Town.
The exercise was conducted under the guidance and supervision of consultants at the SRIMED Level 2 Hospital. It aimed to assess the teams' capabilities in triaging, stabilising and managing multiple trauma patients in a high-pressure environment. A post-exercise debrief was held to review performance and enhance collaboration for future emergency responses.
