SRIBAT Troops Host a Reception to Visiting Army Chief

Upon completion of a successful three-day visit to Haiti to take the first-hand stock of ground realities and evaluate operational commitments of the Sri Lankan troops (SRIBAT) serving the UN Peacekeeping Mission, MINUSTAH  in Haiti, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya were to leave for Lebanon early Friday (23) on a similar assignment.

The visiting Army Commander during his busy itinerary devoted much of his time to mingle with SRIBAT troops and evaluate their specific commitments while paying much attention to their well-being and different challenges they face on duty.

Hours before his exit, SRIBAT Commanding Officer, Senior Staff Officers and representative unit officers/other ranks hosted a farewell reception to their Army Chief at Karibe Hotel, Haiti.

Senior MINUSTAH Commanding Officers, UN officials, ICRC officials, several Sri Lankan expatriates and other invitees attended the reception on Thursday (22) evening.
