The Commanding Officer and his troops of the 13th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were among distinguished invitees to the medal awarding ceremonies of the UNIFIL’s Indonesian and French peacekeepers in Lebanon during the month of October 2022.
The UNIFIL appreciative of the outstanding services, being rendered towards strengthening the security in Lebanon extended those two separate invitations to the Commanding Officers and their troops.
Lieutenant Colonel S.M.D.N Samarakoon, Commanding Officer, 13th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company was also invited to pin a couple of UN medals for both Indonesian and French peacekeepers at those ceremonies.
UN Staff Officers and representatives of UNIFIL forces from other countries were also present at those ceremonies.
