Sri Lankan Culinary Legend Empowers Troops with Cooking Skills

Culinary consultant Deshabandu Chef Dr. Pabilis Silva, Director of Culinary Affairs and Promotions at the Mt Lavinia Hotel, conducted a two-day workshop focusing on Culinary Arts on 09 and 10 January 2024, at the 22 Infantry Division in Trincomalee.

104 participants, including 3 cooks from the China Bay Sri Lanka Air Force base, attended the program, organized under the guidance of Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 22 Infantry Division. The program aimed to improve the culinary skills of cooks serving all establishments in the 22 Infantry Division area and neighboring military establishments under the Security Force Headquarters - East, incorporating both theoretical and practical aspects.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the GOC of 22 Infantry Division awarded certificates to all participants, while Chef Pabilis Silva received a token of appreciation for his generous service.
