Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Regimental Centre at Abepussa hosted a farewell parade to bid farewell for its proud retiring Senior Officers, Brigadier L. G. J. N. Ariyathilaka RWP RSP and Brigadier Y. G. P. N. Jayarathne RSP on 25 March 2024.
The ceremony commenced with the customary Guard Turnout at the entrance of the Regimental Centre and a formal farewell Guard of Honour parade that followed at the parade ground. Subsequently the retiring Senior Officers paid floral tribute to the Sinha War Heroes’ monument in order to remember the sacrifices of SLSR War Heroes.
Afterwards, Major General W. P. A. D. W. Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu , Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment presented a special mementoes to the outgoing one Star Senior Officers appreciating their dedicated services rendered to the SLSR and the Sri Lanka Army more than three decades.
Marking the culmination of the event, the retiring Senior Officers joined All Rank Tea Party and appeared for a group photograph. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the SLSR participated in the farewell event.
