Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine Conducts its Annual Medical Camp

The Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM), together with Lions Club of Sri Lanka Jayawardenepura Kotte, the Provincial Director of Health Services North Central Province, the Regional Director of Health Services Anuradhapura, Medical officer of Health Mahavilachchiya and the Divisional Hospital Thanthirimale, organized and successfully conducted the annual health camp on the 06 October 2024 at the Thanthirimale Raja Maha Viharaya premises.

The medical camp offered a range of services, including OPD, specialized clinics conducted by consultants of the Tri Services in the fields of Internal Medicine, Eye, General Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Psychiatry and ENT. Three mobile dental units manned by dental surgeons provided dental care. Additional services such as laboratory tests, vision and hearing tests, ultrasound scans, ECG, and physiotherapy were conducted with support from the Provincial and Regional Directors of Health and the Thanthirimale Divisional Hospital.

Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine donated the entire requirement of exercise books and stationery for the next academic year along with gift vouchers to purchase a pair of shoes from DSI to 100 needy students of the Wimalagnana Vidiyalaya Thanthirimale to help their academic dreams come true.

Moreover, a total of 805 civilians benefited from the camp and they donated essential items to 70 pregnant mothers of the area and 110 reading spectacles to those in need.

This project was coordinated by the 213 Infantry Brigade and 5th Sri Lanka National Guard.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and civilians participated in the event.
