Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment Triumphs at Army Inter-Regiment Triathlon Tournament

The Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment emerged victorious at the Army Inter-Regimental Triathlon Tournament held on Sunday (29 Sep) near Chandrika Tank, Ambilipitiya.

The event was held under the direction of Army Commander, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, with more than 60 athletes from 12 regiments.

The triathlon which featured a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer cycling race, and a 5-kilometer run, was organized by the Army Triathlon Committee under the leadership of the Chairman of Army Triathlon Sports Committee Major General D. K. S. K Dolage USP psc.

The event aimed to build a strong team of Army athletes to overcome future challenges in the field of sports.

Major M.J. Salgadu, Secretary of the Triathlon Sports Committee, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, the Chairman of Army Triathlon Sports Committee, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Medical Corps, and Commandant at Defense Services Command and Staff College, Major General D. K. S. K. Dolage USP psc extending a formal welcome.

The Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment showcasing remarkable athletic prowess throughout the tournament, clinched the overall championship.

The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Regiment secured the second place, rounding out a highly competitive event. Individual performances
