Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) bade farewell to outgoing Major General W.B.S.M Abeysekera RSP VSV USP, Director General, Financial Management (DGFM) Branch and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock amidst a formal ceremony on Sunday (08 Oct) at the SLA Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
Arriving Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant of SLA before he was greeted with Guard Turnout at the entrance. Subsequently, he paid a floral tribute to the fallen war heroes of SLA at the Regimental Monument.
Afterwards, he was invited to receive the salute of a colourful Guard of Honour at the parade square before posing for a few group photographs with the SLA troops leaving memories of the day. Later, he participated in a tea at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeant’s Mess where he received mementoes in appreciation of his service rendered to the organization before he took part in a customary All-Ranks lunch.
Culminating the day’s agenda, a formal Dinner Night was hosted by Major General W.A.S.S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff of the Army and Colonel Commandant of SLA. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SLA also were present during the series of events.
