Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Host Inter Regiment Volleyball Championship - 2024

Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force successfully concluded the “Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Inter Regiment Volleyball Championship – 2024” on 22 March 2024, under the supervision of Major General M.K. Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) at the Sri Lanka Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda.

The energetic sporty event commenced with the gracious presence of Major General M.T.K.R. Silva KSP - the Deputy Commandant of the SLAVF, and the teams represented volunteer regiments were vied for the supremacy from 18 to 21 March 2024 at the Rendezvous Ground, Headquarters, SLAVF.

The players inspiringly fought to grab the victory, bringing much ecstasy to the spectators, and 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps secured the championship in the women’s category with assuring display of performances pushing Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps to the runner-up position. In the super league, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) advanced to the finals beating Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI). Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) secured the division championship pushing Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) to the runner-up slot.

Major General S.W.M. Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Commander Security Forces Headquarters - West graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Deputy Commandant SLAVF warmly welcomed th Commander Security Forces Headquarters – West to the awarding ceremony following the military formalities. The Chief Guest, Deputy Commandant, SLAVF, and Brigadier W.G.P. Sisira Kumara RSP - Inspector of Training, SLAVF presented the trophies and certificates to the achievers.

The event marked the culmination with the vote of thank of Inspector of Training –SLAVF.
