Sri Lanka Army Shooters Champion NSSF Open Meet

Sri Lanka Army Small Arms Association clinched the Championship in the National Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF) Open Meet, organized by the NSSF of Sri Lanka, held at the Sri Lanka Navy Firing Range, Welisara during Oct 12-18.

Rear Admiral Shemal Fernando, President, NSSF graced the awarding ceremony at Sri Lanka Navy Firing Range, Welisara as the chief guest on Monday (20) and presented the Championship trophy to the Sri Lanka Army Firing Team. Sri Lanka Navy Firing team was placed the runner-up in the tournament.

The open meet included 12 events and shooting teams of the tri-services, Sri Lanka Police, Megnam Rifle Club, Negombo Rifle Club, Nuwaraeliya Rifle Club and Seyane Rifle Club competed in the tournament. 22 School teams also participated in the junior meet on the sidelines of the main one.

Brigadier N.D.S.P Niwunhella, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Smalls Arms Association, Brigadier D.S.D Welikala, Sri Lanka Army Smalls Arms Association and Lieutenant Colonel Rajiv Fernando, Secretary (Rifle), NSSF of Sri Lanka took part in the presentation ceremony.
