The 24th Dragon Warrior Open Karate Championship commenced on 02 March 2024 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, with the participation of karate associations across the island.
During the competition, the Army men’s team secured 11 gold medals and 1 silver medal across all 12 events, while the Army women’s team clinched 5 gold medals.
The teams participated in the competition under the guidance of Major General S.W.M. Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces – West and Chairman of the Army Karate Committee.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the tournament.
