Under the guidance of Major General S. Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, troops harvested six acres of paddy cultivation at an auspicious moment on 03 March 2024.
The cultivation initiative, spanning six acres, was undertaken months ago during the 'Maha Season' following the directions of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army and the supervision of former General Officer Commanding, Major General H.G.P.M. Kariyawasam (Rtd) RSP ndc psc IG, with the aim of strengthening the nation's food security.
