Sri Lanka Army Excels at IESL Techno Awards 2024 with Three Notable Wins

The Sri Lanka Army secured three prestigious awards at the Techno Award Night held on 22 November 2024 at Water’s Edge, Battaramulla. These accolades recognised the Army’s significant contributions to technological innovation at the Techno Exhibition held at BMICH from 11 to 13 October 2024.

The Techno Exhibition served as a platform for professionals, engineers, and students to engage with technological solutions. The Directorate of Research, Concept, and Doctrine (RCD) coordinated the Army's participation under the guidance of its Director, Brigadier T.N. Majeed RSP USP ndc Isc. Among the diverse exhibits, the Army’s stall drew widespread attention for its innovative displays, highlighting its dual expertise in defence and civilian technology.

The three award-winning innovations included:

1. Small Arm Simulator, developed by a team led by Major S.R.R. Pieris, Major H.T. Gamage, Major W.V.N. Vimaladewa, and Corporal K.D.P Madusanka and Corporal R.I Asanka

2. Automatic BMI Hip-to-Ratio and Metabolic Ratio Analyzer, created by Major T.H.J.C. Somathilake.

3. Automobile Filter Cleaning Machine, designed by a team including Major H.B. Colombage and Corporal A.B.M.W Priyanga
