Troops of the 522 Infantry Brigade doused a fast spreading bush fire in the general area of Pachchapalai in Jaffna on Tuesday (Aug 01) due to dry weather patterns.
As soon as the news was reported, a team of Army personnel including an Officer rushed to the location and managed to extinguish the fast-spreading fire within a short time before it would escalate and catch adjacent areas too.
The task was closely supervised by the General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division, Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc and the Commander 522 Infantry Brigade Brigadier L.K.T Fernando RSP USP.
