12 Sri Lanka Engineer Corps (SLE) troops of the 612 Brigade of the 61 Division under the Security Force HQ-West with sponsorship support, lent by ‘Sri Sathya Sai’ Foundation gave away a few more than 100 dry ration packs to low-income group families, resident in the general area of Matugama after inviting them to Matugama Sri Sarananda Pirivena in Welipenna on Tuesday (28).
As directed by Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces-West, respective Grama Seva officials of the Divisional Secretariat of Matugama supported to pick the most deserving sections who should be given those relief packs, each worth Rs 5000/= with rice, dhal, wheat flour, sugar, tea, etc.
The Commanding Officer of 12 SLE, representatives of sponsors and beneficiaries were there during the distribution.
