Special Forces Team in ‘Cambrian Patrol’ Awarded Bronze Medal

Three Officers and seven Other Ranks of the Special Forces (SF) took part in the British Army’s international ‘Exercise Cambrian Patrol’, the world-class patrol competition during 2-18 October in London.

This annual military exercise that involves its participating units covering a 40-mile course in less than 48 hrs while performing numerous types of military manoeuvers and patrols continued throughout the rugged Cambrian Mountains and swamp lands of mid-Wales in Britain.

The Sri Lankan team, led by Major Jayantha Rathnayake of the Special Forces was received on arrival by the 36 Engineer Regiment of the British Army and taken to the Regimental Headquarters in Maidston, East of England where the Sri Lankan SF team had to undergo training for the Exercise despite chilly weather patterns.

The SF team moving into Wales commenced the Exercise on Tuesday (15) and the subsequent Patrol proper, the following day (16). The SF team successfully completed the Exercise on Friday (18) and secured a Bronze medal for participation in this tough Exercise.

Commander, 160 Brigade A.S Richmond of the British Army and Brigadier Swarna Bothota, Minister Counsellor (Defence) - Defence Advisor, Sri Lanka High Commission in London joined the award of the Bronze medal to the visiting SF team. buy footwear | adidas Yeezy Boost 350
