Special Forces Help Replenish Emergency Blood Stocks

Considering the national emergency circumstances and the need to assist the country and its people, members of the Special Forces (SF) Regiment HQ at Naula, Matale in line with the thinking of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces and Commander of the Army initiated a blood donation drive on Monday (23) with a view to replenishing blood stocks at Matale District Hospital in the wake of looming COVID-19 threat.

124 Officers and 247 Other Ranks of the 1st Regiment of the Special Forces during the campaign donated their blood to the Blood Bank officials including Medical Officers.

Meanwhile, 123 Officers and Other Ranks of the 2nd Regiment of the Special Forces and Special Forces Combat Diving Training School donated their blood to the Padaviya Rural Hospital Padaviya on Tuesday (25).

Army troops all over the country have once again come forward to assist medical authorities by donating their blood in the event of any emergence of a national need for blood transfusions.Sports Shoes | Sneakers Nike
