Soldiers Still Uncover Hidden Arms &;amp; Explosives

WANNI: ARMY troops engaged in search and clear operations in the general areas of IRANAMADHU, PUTHUKUDDIYIRUPPU, SUGANDIPURAM, KAPPUKULAM and KADIKULAM on Monday (31) recovered seventy-eight T-56 weapons, one pistol with a magazine, twelve rounds of 9 mm ammunition,  one thermo baric weapon, four anti personnel mines, sixteen Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), one part of 12.7 mm weapon, sixteen Multi Propose Machine Gun (MPMG) links, three hundred and forty rounds of MPMG ammunition, four RPG charges, three Improvised Explosive Device (IED) charges, twelve hand grenades, one booby trap, two hundred rounds of General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) ammunition, four hundred rounds of T-56 ammunition, two pressure mines, thirteen modified bombs, twenty one booby traps made using 81 mm mortars, twenty-two detonators, one 60 mm mortar bomb, eighteen claymore mines and five Out Board Motors (OBM).

      Meanwhile, Air Force troops in TRINCOMALEE engaged in a search operation recovered five anti personnel mines in the general area of KANDALKADU, on the same day (31).
