A fisherman about to drown in the sea at Point Pedro was rescued by soldiers serving the 551 Brigade on Wednesday (27) night. The boat with the fisherman, who was trying to place a rope on his boat capsized in the storm.
The fisherman who was about to drown was rescued by the soldiers who swiftly jumped into the sea in spite of stormy weather conditions. Later, soldiers took immediate action to admit the victim to the nearest hospital after rescuing him.
A large number of boats were damaged due to the stormy weather condition prevailing in the area in the past few days. Moreover, fishermen were seen busy putting ropes on their boats to prevent them from being drifted away.
