An indoor gymnasium, a much-felt need of the soldiers serving 61 Division under Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W) became a reality recently, following its construction by soldiers using local raw materials in the area.
It was recently opened by Major General A.K.S Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W at the invitation of Brigadier A Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division during a brief ceremony attended by a large gathering of officers and other ranks. Brigadier K.G.D Perera, Brigade Commander, 611 Brigade was also present on the occasion.
The gymnasium with facilities for table tennis, badminton, physical training, weight-lifting, etc was built using locally produced raw materials.
