So Far 208,397 PCR Tests Conducted in the Country-NOCPCO

Six persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 as of this morning (25). Among them were one expatriate from India in quarantine at Hotel Fairway QC, two expatriates from UAE in quarantine at SLAGSC QC, one expatriate from Indonesia in quarantine at Iranamadu SLAF QC, one expatriate from Singapore in quarantine at Purawasakulam SLAF QC and another expatriate from Maldives in quarantine at Kegalle Resort QC. The total number of infected detainees as of this morning (25) by 6.00 am at the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu stands at 629. Of them, 508 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The flight KE 9473 from South Korea with 275 passengers and the flight QR 688 from Doha Qatar with 21 passengers arrived in Colombo and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services.

As of today (25), 89 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 08 persons are from Nipuna Boossa QC, 07 persons from SLAGSC QC, 03 from 1 Gemunu Watch QC at Diyatalawa, 02 from Hotel Mount Lavinia Beach QC and 68 from Carolina village QC, have left for their homes. Likewise, 7,038 persons in 62 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (24), 1780 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 208,397.

Meanwhile, 06 infected positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (25). Three of them were identified as expatriates and the remaining three were among those associated with individuals in the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre. Accordingly, 605 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu after recovery have so far left.
