Kandy - based 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops of the 111 Brigade Headquarters under 11 Division on account of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year launched a community project and a cleaning programme in the Kandy Lanka Virgin’s Convent premises, following a request made by sisters in the Convent.
Using sand bags, troops renovated the landslide-prone areas in the premises to avert any possible avalanche and cleared piles of garbage around this place.
2 (V) SLSR Commanding Officer, together with his troops attended the project and came under praise from the Convent.
