SLSR Troops Bid Farewell to Two Dedicated Senior Officers, Maj Gen Manoj Mudannayake & Maj Gen Laksiri Waduge

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Regimental HQ on Saturday (15) during elaborate ceremonials bade farewell to two of its most respected retiring Senior Officers awarding military salutes, mementos and greetings.

At first, the SLSR Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel Dulith Perera warmly received the former Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Manoj Mudannayke on arrival at the premises near the Truncheon house and ushered him to receive honours in the Guard Turnout and then the Guard of Honour. Later, the Centre Commandant, Brigadier Dammika Dissanayake welcomed the Chief Gust at the Parade ground and accompanied him to receive the salute of the proud and dignified military parade. Afterwards, the retiring former Colonel of the Regiment laid a floral wreath at the SLSR monument and paid his tribute to the memory of fallen SLSR War Heroes.

Similarly, the retiring Major General Laksiri Waduge, one more most respected SLSR Officer was also warmly welcomed near the Truncheon house by the Deputy Centre Commandant afterwards and invited him to review the Guard Turnout. After a while, the Centre Commandant welcomed the second Chief Guest, Major General Waduge at the Parade ground and accompanied him to the saluting dais to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour.

By paying tribute to fallen War Heroes after laying a floral wreath at the Regimental Monument, both Chief Guests on the day, Major General Manoj Mudannayake and Major General Laksiri Waduge joined an All Rank tea table at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess in the HQ premises at Ambepussa.

As dusk fell, a farewell dinner at the Officers’ Mess, hosted in honour of both retiring Senior Officers brought the day’s proceedings to end. Special mementoes were also presented to Major General Manoj Mudannayake and Major General Laksiri Waduge by the Colonel of the Regiment at the same occasion in appreciation of dedicated and committed services, rendered to the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.

The participation of Senior Officers, distinguished guests, Officers and Other Ranks was restricted due to COVID-19 pandemic and health guidelines.Asics footwear | Nike Running
