SLSR Team Wins 23rd Inter Regiment Para Archery Tournament

The final rounds of the Sri Lanka Army's 23rd Inter Regiment Para Archery Tournament got underway at the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) in Ambepussa on 08 July 2022 organized by the Headquarters Battalion of the SLSR.

The Archery teams of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Gemunu Watch (GW), Gajaba Regiment (GR), Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) and Special Force (SF) Regiments participated in the finals of the Para Archery Championship.

The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Team (SLSR) defeated the Sri Lanka Light Infantry team to secure the trophy as Army Para Archery Champions for 2022.

Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Centre Commandant, SLSR graced the awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest along with all the Staff officers of the Regimental Centre SLSR. On his arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Headquarters Battalion SLSR, Lieutenant Colonel Kamal Gnanarathne.

During the awarding ceremony, Major General (Retd) H. R Wickramasinghe and Colonel Wajira Amarasiri gave away the medals to the recipients at the ceremony just before the Chief Guest presented the award to the Champion of the tournament.

Colonel Wajira Amarasiri, the Deputy Center Commandant of SLSR, Staff Officers of the RC SLSR, Members of the Sri Lanka National Archery Association and Para Archery Committee, together with the members of the Para Archery Committee, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the finals.
