The Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda on Friday (Feb 10) hosted a reception and felicitated the recently-promoted Major General Priyantha Dasanayake when he arrived there after the recent promotion.
Colonel Kasun Adikari, Centre Commandant, SLSC, warmly received the day’s Chief Guest on arrival and a subsequent Guard Turnout at the entrance greeted him in accordance with military formalities. The Chief Guest then paid a floral tribute to fallen SLSC War Heroes at the war monument before he was honoured in a colourful Guard of Honour. Senior Officers sat for a group photograph with the visitor just after that.
During refreshments, the Senior Officer took some time off to share a few thoughts with officers who were present at the Officers’ Mess. Soon after that, he paid a courtesy call on the Chief Signal Officer and Colonel Commandant of the SLSC, Major General Lalith Herath at the Colonel Commandant’s Office.
Before concluding the day’s agenda, the chief guest joined for lunch with all officers at the Officers’ Mess where he was presented a memento as a symbol of memory for his visit to the SLSC HQ.
