SLSC Hosts Family Get-Together for Retired Officers & Other Ranks

The Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) with the intention of sustaining bonds of comradeship and goodwill organized a get-together for Retired Officers, Other Ranks and their family members on Saturday (25 Nov) at the SLSC Regimental Headquarter premises in Panagoda on a conceptual notion of Major General K.A.W.S Ratnayake ndu, Chief Signal Officer of the Army and Colonel Commandant, SLSC.

A variety of events got underway during the get-together with the participation of Major General K.R.P Rowel (Rtd) RWP VSV USP ndu USACGSC, President, Signal Veterans' Association. A total of 238 personnel, including SLSC veterans and their beloved family members joined together to make the day a memorable one.

The day’s agenda commenced with a colourful band and drill display, presented by SLSC troops. Soon after, a video that highlighted the significant progress and latest SLSC developments was screened before the audience. On the same occasion, Warrant Officer II K.I.S Keerthirathna of 3 SLSC was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 100,000.00 by the Signal Veterans' Association for his remarkable feat, achieved by walking from the northern most Point Pedro to Point of Dondra by entering Guinness World Records.

Later, the visitors enjoyed a view inside the Lieutenant Colonel D.V Brohier Motivation Centre, the latest academic and monumental inception of the SLSC.

Those veterans and family members towards the final segment of the day's agenda joined fun games in the playground among themselves. Finally, the day's programme culminated with a lunch treat being served at the auditorium, blended with a glamourous musical extravagance. Several SLSC Senior officers, Officers and Other Ranks were also associated with the arrangement.
