The Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) bade farewell to the outgoing Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of SLSC, Major General I.H.M.R.K Herath USP ndc psc on 03 January 2025 in a formal ceremony held at the Regimental Centre of SLSC.
The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by Brigadier T.S Liyanagunawardana, the Centre Commandant of SLSC and was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. He then paid a floral tribute to the fallen War Heroes at the Regimental Monument.
In keeping with the military traditions, he was honoured with a colorful Guard of Honour at the parade square, followed by a group photograph with the Officers. He interacted with the troops during tea session held at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess followed by an All-Ranks lunch at the Other Ranks’ Mess and addressed the troops.
Later on, he penned down some complimentary remarks in the Visitor’s Book at the Colonel Commandant’s Office, before a street lining bid him farewell. In the evening, a farewell dinner was hosted in the honour of the retiring Senior Officer at the SLSC Officers’ Mess.
