SLRC & SLPC Regiments Conduct Community Assistance Programms

In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, the Regimental Centres of the Sri Lanka Rifle Corps (SLRC) and Sri Lanka Pioneer Corps (SLPC) organized impactful community assistance programmes on 6 September 2024.

This initiative underscored the Army's commitment to community service towards the local residents.

21 troops undertook a cleaning programme at the Tikiri Children’s Home in Peradeniya, working diligently to improve the cleanliness of the premises.

The effort aimed to create a healthier and more welcoming environment for the children and staff.

In addition to the cleaning activities, the troops provided tea for 36 residents and staff members of the institution, fostering a sense of community and care. They also distributed essential items and medical supplies, addressing some of the immediate needs of the Children's home.

The event saw participation from Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks.
