SLMA's New Commandant Begins his Duties

Brigadier M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc of the Special Forces Regiment assumed duties as the new Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on 20 July 2023.

The new Commandant was welcomed to the SLMA according a Guard Turnout. He afterwards laid a floral wreath in honour of fallen War Heroes at the monument before he was honoured in a ceremonial Guard of Honour.

After the parade, Brigadier M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc officially took over the duties of his new appointment, amidst chanting of 'Pirith' and religious blessings invoked by Maha Sangha at the Commandant’s Office.

After a while, he addressed the troops at the Sino- Lanka Friendship auditorium where he emphasized the importance of everybody’s contribution and support in accomplishing the objectives, vision and mission of the SLMA.

At the end of the day's proceedings, he joined an All Rank tea and interacted with the attendees.
