SLMA Troops to Build House for a Needy Family

A homeless family with children in Wathugoda, Hinnaarangolla, Boralanda in Rahangala Grama Sewa Division in Welimada Divisional Secretariat would be the recipient of a new house, to be erected by the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) troops following sponsorship received from expatriates in Australia.

The foundation-laying ceremony for the construction took place on Friday (2) at Boralanda. Ms Nethmi Gunasekera and Mr Lahiru Dissanayake, residents in Australia have made the financial sponsorship for the construction of this much-needed house for Mr S. Sangargaru residing at No. 62 F, Wathugoda, Hinnaarangolla, Boralanda.

The brief inaugural ceremony was attended by Major General Krishantha Gnanaratne - Commandant at SLMA and Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment, together with Brigadier Anil Peiris - Deputy Commandant, SLMA, Chairman at Welimada Pradeshiya Sabahawa and a few other senior officers.
