The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI)-initiated house construction project for deserving SLLI soldiers under its Phase 3 gifted two more new houses for two homeless soldiers of the 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment and the 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment on Saturday (10).
The architect of the project, Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment SLLI as the Chief Guest joined warming ceremonies of both new houses.
Accordingly, 15 SLLI Regiment providing their manpower and technical skills erected a new house for a homeless soldier of the 15 SLLI living in Janasavigama, Kantale. He is married and blessed with two kids.
Similarly, 20 SLLI Regiment as per directions of their Colonel of the Regiment constructed a new house for a most required SLLI soldier in Nagaswewa, Dehiaththakandiya. He is married and blessed with two kids.
Respective commanding officers of two battalions closely supervised the construction of these two houses on the directions of the Colonel of the Regiment SLLI.
Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment who pioneered this special project for the best interests of SLLI soldiers several months ago attended the warming ceremonies separately.
The Center Commandant of SLLI Regimental Headquarters, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the house-warming ceremonies at Kantale and Dehiattakandiya.
