In parallel with the ongoing island-wide Dengue prevention campaign, troops of the 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry carried out a cleaning campaign on Thursday (11) in the general area of Vellankulam with the support of medical staff at Vellankulam Medical Center.
This event was conducted on the directions of the General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Major General D.M.H.D Bandara and under the supervision of the Commander 651 Brigade, in order to rid the area of any Dengue outbreak threat with monsoon rains set in.
