Coincident with the ‘Vesak Poya’ Day, Sri Lanka Army Engineer (SLE) Division troops organized a special ‘Vesak Day’ event under the guidance of its General Officer Commanding Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc at Mattegoda SLE Camp on Friday (5).
The Vesak programme consisted of a Dhamma sermon, offer of alms to adults and a Shramadana. The Dhamma sermon was delivered by Ven Bambarakanda Gnanananda Thero, Incumbent of Kanda Vihara temple at Mattegoda, in which he elaborated on the buddhist canon, ‘Singalowada Suthraya’ that could help maintain psychological and biological relationships in day-to-day life.
On 05 May, a special ‘Shramadana’ and an offer of alms to residents at Thusitha Elders’ Home followed as the final leg of ‘Vesak’ programmes.
The General Officer Commanding Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, SLE Division Senior Officers, Commanding Officers of SLE, together with Senior Officers, Officers and over 250 Other Ranks attended these meritorious Vesak projects.
