SLE Deploys EOD Instructors to Train Maldives National Defence Force

A team of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Instructors of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) departed for Maldives on 20 March 2024, to conduct a training program for the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) troops.

The three months training program was arranged in response to a request from the MNDF. It aims to equip MNDF Officers and Soldiers with comprehensive skills in mine handling, explosives management, and related accessories.

The seven-member team is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel J.A.C.S. Jagoda psc and comprises four Officers and three Other Ranks. Before their departure, a formal interaction session took place at the SLE Regimental Centre, with the presence of Major General M.K. Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of SLE.
