SLCMP Training Programme on Bakery Products Concluded

The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Regimental Centre aimed at educating SLCMP troops on 'Bakery Productions' organized a training workshop on 28 November 2023 under the guidance of the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and SLCMP Colonel Commandant, Major General A.C.A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc.

The main objective of the workshop is to widen the knowledge of the Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police on the bakery sector and enhance their skills to work as trained/competent craftsmen in their respective establishments after their retirement or otherwise.

The immensely qualified resource personnel, Mr. Hemantha Karunarathna,the Bakery Service Manager of Prima Ceylon (Private) Limited and Mr. Asela Namal Bandara, who has field experience in the private sector for more than 15 years conducted the sessions.

During the sessions, the lecturers shared their knowledge with their experiences in the field and highlighted some advantages in this sector and encouraged the participants to gain a wide range of career opportunities in the bakery field after retirement.

Accordingly, 02 Officers and 18 Non-Commissioned Officers who have been employed in the bakery production sector in under-command Battalions participated in the training session. The programme included the preparation of bakery mixtures, application of ingredients, use of equipment, baking techniques and finishing in order to provide top-quality products.

At the end of the workshop, some salient points of food presenting methods were trained to the staff and the interactive session was conducted with the participants to share their experiences and knowledge in the field.
