Following a request made by the Sri Lanka Port Authority, a one-day training workshop was conducted by the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) regimental center for 30 officials in the Traffic Control Unit & Security in the Sri Lanka Port Authority on 20 October 2023 at Sri Lanka Port Authority premises.
The workshop included the role and functions of the SLCMP and the provision of ceremonial outriding. The selected experienced team, headed by the Colonel Provost at Directorate of Provost included well-qualified SLCMP Officers and Other Ranks and provided the lecture assistance under the close supervision of the Directorate of Provost. They also educated them providing advanced theoretical and practical knowledge on ceremonial piloting.
In addition, attendees had an opportunity to refresh their knowledge and receive updates on performing of ceremonial outriding which has been specially designed to provide ceremonial motorcade duties to VVIPs and VIPs.
Major General A.C.A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police provided the much-needed guidance for success of the workshop.
