SLCMP Conducts Five-Day Workshop on Motorcade Duties

A selected group of Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) participated in a five-day workshop on handling of XJ900p Motor Cycles and performance of motorcade duties, arranged by SLCMP Regimental Centre at Polhengoda from May 29 to June 02.

This workshop was initiated on the directions of Major General A.C.A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Provost Marshal and the Colonel Commandant of the SLCMP under the close supervision of Brigadier A.M.R Abeysinghe, SLCMP Centre Commandant.

5 Officers and 37 NCOs participated in the workshop and those attendees had an opportunity to refresh their knowledge and receive updates on performance of motorcade duties, especially with the handling of the XJ 900p Motor Cycles, which have been specially designed to provide ceremonial motorcade duties.

The certificate-awarding ceremony for attendees got underway on Friday (June 02) at the SLCMP Regimental Headquarters. The Centre Commandant graced the event as the chief guest and delivered closing remarks of the workshop before awarding certificates to the participants in the presence of the gathering.
