Major General Champaka Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni assumed office as the 20th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) on Monday (18) at the SLAWC Regimental Headquarters at Borella.
The newly-appointed Colonel Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by SLAWC troops after he arrived at the camp. A few minutes later, he left his signature to signify the acceptance of his new office as the Colonel Commandant.
After a brief address, he shared refreshments with a few senior lady officers presented the occasion. Officers including the Centre Commandant, SLAWC attended the occasion.
