Troops of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) Headquarters contributed their technical expertise and labour to completely renovate the barbed wire fence, placed around the 'Suwasetha Children's Home in Kosgama during 27 January -09 February after a request to that effect was presented to the SLAVF Commandant, Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe by authorities in the Children's Home.
SLAVF soldiers also donated saplings of fruits and valuable trees for planting in the compound as a long-term benefit after the major barbed-wire project was over.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Major General Thusitha Silva, the Deputy Commandant of the SLAVF on the guidelines given by the Commandant SLAVF.
