With a view to celebrating Christmas and the dawn of the New Year and appreciating the services of the civil staff serving the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), a ceremony was held at the SLAVF HQ to award gift parcels and dry rations on a suggestion, made by Major General U.D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commandant, SLAVF.
The project closely supervised by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, Deputy Commandant - SLAVF saw a total of 40 civil employees receive those gift parcels on 21 December 2023 during the simple ceremony.
The Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and praised the dedicated service of civil staffers whilst distributing ration packs among them.
The Officers and Other Ranks were also associated with the brief ceremony.
