The Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) Regimental HQ at Werahera, days prior to the retirement of Major General S.H Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP, the reputed Consultant Radiologist at Colombo Army Hospital bade farewell to him in an elegant military salute and a parade, held at the SLAMC Regimental HQ on Monday (26 June).
The retiring Major General S.H Munasinghe RWP RSP VSVS USP was warmly welcomed on arrival at the premises by the SLAMC Colonel Commandant, Major General P.A.C Fernando USP after the day's Chief Guest was greeted with a customary Guard Turnout in accordance with military traditions.
Next was the military Guard of Honour salute, presented to him by SLAMC troops after the retiree reviewed the parade along with the parade Commander. After a while, he was invited to participate in the customary All Rank tea table where he had the opportunity of interacting with the representative gathering of SLAMC Officers and Other Ranks.
A street-line salute, joined by all Officers and Other Ranks after a while greeted him, wishing 'Jaya Sri' as the vehicle carrying Major General S.H Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP inched through the HQ complex. The customary farewell dinner, hosted on behalf of Major General S.H Munasinghe RWP RSP VSVS USP at the SLAMC took place in the same evening at the SLAMC Regimental HQ amid a gathering of SLAMC Officers including Major General P.A.C Fernando USP, Colonel Commandant.
The Colonel Commandant towards the end of the arrangement presented a special memento to the outgoing Major General S.H Munasinghe RWP RSP VSVS USP as a token of recognition of his invaluable service to the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps.
