The finals and the prize-awarding ceremony of the Inter Regiment Circle Kabaddi Championship Tournament - 2018 brought victory to the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) during the final tussle against its equally competitive rival, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP). The finals were played at the Philip Gunawardena Public Ground in Avissawella.
Thursday’s (27) finals were witnessed by Brigadier P.A Kaluarachchi, Chairman, Army Kabaddi Committee who is also the Brigadier Logistics at Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force as the Chief Guest.
Circle Kabaddi tournament, competed by 7 Regiments continued for two consecutive days (26-27).
SLAGSC emerged as the champions in the Super League scoring 38 runs while SLCMP secured the Runners-up slot scoring 31 runs. The Gemunu Watch (GW) and Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) became second runners-up.
The Championship Trophy as well as merit awards and shields to the Best players in both teams were presented by Brigadier P.A Kaluarachchi.
