The SLAGSC netball team emerged victorious in the Inter Regiment Netball Championship-2024, held at Panagoda on 28 September 2024.
During the final encounter, SLAGSC team defeated the SLAWC 'A' team in a closely contested game.
Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Five teams from various Army regiments participated in the tournament. The Chief Guest congratulated all participants and awarded prizes to the top performers. Notably, Lance Corporal K.K.S.P Senarathne of SLAGSC was crowned as the Netball Queen.
Awardees of the tournament included:
- Best Upcoming Player: Corporal A.L.S Abeygoda
- Best Shooter: Corporal R.D.G Wasana
- Best Centre Player: Captain T.A.M.T Thennakoon
- Best Defend: Lance Corporal D.A.S.N Balasooriya
Mrs. Udula Kasturimudali, Chairperson of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch, Senior Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the event.
