Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps - Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAGSC- SVB) held a traditional New Year festival to mark the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 09 April 2024 at the SLAGSC Regimental ground with the participation of a large crowd Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SLAGSC.
Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N.D.K.B Niyangoda RWP VSV USP ndu psc, the Colonel Commandant of SLAGSC together with Dr. (Mrs) Himali Niyangoda, the Chairperson of SLAGSC - SVB graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The event featured a number of traditional and fun games, including eye-placing on the elephant, lime balancing, bun-eating obstacle race, cadjan weaving, pillow fights, breaking the pot, tug of war, and more.
The winners were awarded with valuable gifts, sponsored by the Directorate of Legal Services, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
