SLAGSC Annual ‘Pirith’ Chanting Held at RHQ Premises

The annual ‘Pirith’ chanting ceremony of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) got underway at the Regimental HQ on Friday (25) at Panagoda.

In keeping with age-old traditions, Colonel Commandant invited the chief incumbent to conduct the all night ‘Pirith’ chanting offering the tray of betel and a tray of flowers after the monks were ushered to the ‘Pirith Mandapaya’ in a colourful perahera.

The following morning (26) ‘Heela Dana’ was offered to 25 Buddhist priests to invoke blessings on the SLAGSC, all serving and retired members of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, including civil staffers and to transfer merits to fallen War Heroes.

Colonel Commandant, Major General Kumara Handunmulla, Council members, senior members of SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Unit, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the occasion. Asics shoes | シューズ
