SL Accountants' Service Assn Shows its Concern for Health Safety of Armed Forces

Showing the highest regard and concern for members of the Sri Lankan armed forces in their fight against the control of COVID-19 pandemic, Sri Lanka Accountants' Service Association this afternoon (16) extended its members' support by way of handing over a large consignment of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) overalls, worth about Rs 2 million to Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters.

The consignment of 1800 high quality PPE, bought by the membership of this Association after offering their one-day's salary to the worthy cause was received by the Head of the NOCPCO, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva during the brief meeting he has had with those visiting representatives of the Association.

The representatives, speaking high of the Army's commitment and dedication to minimize further transmission of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka told the Head of NOCPCO that the Association's well-intended project received overwhelming support and generosity, coordinated by the Director Finance in the Army, Mr Nimal Karunatilake. Appreciative of the symbol of goodwill, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva acknowledged their concerns and extended his best wishes to the membership of the Association for their brotherly understanding and thoughtfulness. Those overalls are to be distributed among the most vulnerable sections of the armed forces, they were told.
