LTTE Men Assault & Hack Youngster

TROOPS SERVING IN CHUNNAKAM, JAFFNA intervened to rush an LTTE assaulted youngster initially to the PALALY Military Hospital late last night (08) after the victim was found brutally hacked with a sword.

The victim, NAGENDRAM GNANASELVAM (24) of KUPPILAN North, ILLALAI, with severe bleeding cut injuries on his head and the left arm, was initially rushed to the PALALY Military Hospital by the troops before he was transferred to JAFFNA Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

Next of kin of the injured civilian have sought the help of the troops in the area after a few Tamil Tigers (LTTE) committed the crime and vanished while the victim was out on the road.

Reason for this criminal act was yet to be ascertained, according to the CHUNNAKAM Police. The Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) was informed. Police investigations are in progress.
