JAFFNA

LTTE'S canard on girl's abduction a hoax

A meticulously hatched LTTE plot to tarnish the image of the Sri Lanka Army over an alleged abduction of a school girl in KONDAVIL area, JAFFNA was proved a hoax when Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) representatives on Tuesday (10) ruled that there was no truth in the fabricated story or the alleged abduction.

Tamil Tiger (LTTE) propaganda mill on Tuesday (10) went to town over this alleged abduction of a teenager and tried hard to provoke civilians in KONDAVIL area.

The absence of a teenage girl for a few hours from KONDAVIL area while she was returning from school prompted LTTE men to capitalize on the scene. Those propagandist deliberately fabricated a story saying that the girl was being detained inside the Army camp at KONDAVIL.

LTTE men further complained to the SLMM on the same line and requested them to immediately contact the Army and get her the alleged detained girl release. In the meantime, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian has brought the alleged abduction to the attention of His Excellency the President MAHINDA

RAJAPAKSHA who in turn asked for a report on the matter from the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).

However, as directed investigation got underway Tuesday (10) evening itself information given to the Army by guardians of the girl in question confirmed that the teenage girl has returned home reportedly after an alleged tour to the town with some one else. This concocted LTTE canard once again clearing reinforces that LTTE was hell-bent on provoking the masses against the troops deployed in these area.
