Sinha Soldiers' Commitment Lauded

SECRETARY DEFENCE MR. GOTABHAYA RAJAPAKSA, on an invitation extended to him by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka, paid a visit to the Regimental Headquarters of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment at Ambepussa Friday (01).

On arrival at the premises, Sinha soldiers warmly welcomed the Secretary Defence after according a Guard of Honour in his honour before the day's itinerary commenced.

Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapakse laid the foundation stone for a new building complex that would house a modern gymnasium and a physiotherapy unit in the premises following an initiative taken by the Commander himself who saw the important need of the unit.

During his brief address on the occasion, Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapakse appreciated the contribution and commitment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment soldiers as infantrymen. He also paid a glittering tribute to the soldiers who are engaged in defending territorial integrity of the country. He also did not forget to convey the best compliments of His Excellency the President on his behalf to those soldiers.
